In a modern world where we are flat out, running our busy lives, always "switched on" and overloaded with information, it is not uncommon for us to stop questioning what is going on around us, we can unintentionally forget to pay attention to the detail.

When was the last time you stopped for a moment and took a deep breathe and reflected on what it is you do and why you do it?

8Categories is a blog about reflecting, discussing, learning and applying knowledge, under a set of categories that is loosely based on a commonly used tool by professional life coaches, the "Wheel of Life". It helps you to consider each area of your life in turn and assess what's off balance. As such, it helps you identify areas of your life that need more attention.

I will be using the wheel to prompt my posts, however I don't want this blog to be just about me. I want to share my stories from the "University of Life" but everyone's "Wheel of Life" is as different as our wants and needs, but naturally similar. Just as Plato expanded on the ideas of Socrates, I know that your stories would be just as meaningful and useful to me and the other readers, as I hope mine are to you.
